FEB 1/18   Douglas College opens Winter 2019 Application for Admission – Grade 12 students that would like to start studies at Douglas College in the Winter 2019 session (January 2019), note that the application for this session opens at 8:30am on February 1, 2018.  https://www.douglascollege.ca/study-at-douglas/apply/canadian-students/when-to-apply    Many programs are first-qualified, first-admitted so applying early is important.  Popular programs such as Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants, (the pathway into Bachelor of Science in Nursing) fill up quickly, and once full, these programs will close their applications. Douglas College has a New transfer agreement for ‘Youth Justice’ at RRU – Youth Justice Diploma graduates can now transfer into third year Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies at Royal Roads University (Victoria). Douglas College has a New Associate of Arts Degree in ‘Asian Studies – Are you interested in international trade, diplomatic or consular services, immigration or tourism?  You may want to learn more about the new Associate of Arts Degree in Asian Studies. This 2-year program will develop cultural, historical and political knowledge of Asian countries.  Students will also acquire intermediate-level language skills in Mandarin or Japanese. Douglas College ~ Teaching English as a Second Language program – The Douglas College TESL Certificate is one semester and unlike other TESL/TESOL programs, students don’t need a bachelor’s degree to apply. Grads achieve an internationally recognized credential and could teach abroad. The program has two intakes: January and May. APR 9/18 – Langara College is moving its online application system to the Education Planner BC website (https://apply.educationplannerbc.ca/langara), to facilitate a smoother application process for students.

They will continue to accept online applications through the Langara website until 9:00 pm on Sunday, April 8th. As of 1:00 pm on April 9th, the new system will open and students will be able to submit their applications via the Education Planner BC website (https://apply.educationplannerbc.ca/langara).

*Please note that they will not be accepting online applications from 9:00 pm April 8th to 1:00 pm on April 9th.

Diploma Applied Science for EngineeringThis two-year program is designed for students who wish to study university engineering, but do not yet meet all the pre-requisites, or who need time to transition into the heavy workload that the study of engineering requires. Students will gain a thorough grounding in mathematics and natural sciences, including laboratory practice, and technical communications. They will also be introduced to Canadian engineering practice, history and social context, and engineering principles of case study and design. APR 12/17   Sample the VCC Campus Day – Students with disabilities are invited to visit Vancouver Community College and learn about the programs offered by the Community and Career Education Department (Programs for Students with Diverse Learning Needs).  On Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 9am to 3pm, Grade 12 students, planning their transition from high school, will spend the day touring the Downtown campus.  The following VCC courses and programs are offered:
